The Best Safelists for July 2011

Author: Jerry Iannucci

Hello and welcome to July!

Has it really been a month since I last updated my blog?  Sorry.  I’ve been really busy working on my new site which I hope to unveil very soon.  Trust me, the wait is going to be worth it.

In the meantime I can’t ignore the fact that it is the first of the month and just like I have been doing since I don’t know when I started… it’s time to dig out my advertising stats from last month’s safelists and viral list builders and show you what has been working best for me.

But first, the news!

Actually, not too much to report from last month.  Sean Supplee did launch a new viral list builder called List Ablaze at the start of the month.  My stats there this month were good but nothing spectacular.  Are we starting to reach a point where the market for new viral list builders is becoming over saturated?

Ok, let’s get to the stats!

If you have never been here before, here’s how it works.  I promote a few rotating squeeze pages every day in over 30 different safelists and viral list builders.  I track how many people are clicking the credit links to view my pages and how many are joining my list.  Yes, I am upgraded on most of these mailers and your results may vary based on what it is you are promoting.  These stats are just meant to serve as a guide to help you to decide what mailers you should be using this month.

Got it?  Good.  Here we go…

Total June sign-ups from all mailers (including those not listed here): 230

I decided to expand the list to 15 instead of 10 this month to help give a better picture of what is going on.

Once again, List Bonus is rocking the top of the list.  I don’t know how they are doing it but I am getting sign-ups every single time I send out an ad there.  If you’re not a member of List Bonus yet I have no idea what you are waiting for.

Look who has found their way back into the number two slot.  Is that Elite Safelist?  Why, yes it is!  Who said old school safelists are dead?  Those people are missing on on some great traffic from some great sites.  If you haven’t tried Elite Safelist in awhile go check it out.

And then there’s all the other mailers that we know and love.  Blah, blah, blah.

Now get out there and start promoting your sites!

But first, make sure you are tracking your links.  If you don’t track, you will never know which sites are working for you and which ones are not.  If you need a tracking tool you can get the same one that I am using for free from TEToolbox.

The Best Safelists for June 2011

Author: Jerry Iannucci

Hello fellow Internet marketers!

Once again it is time to dig out my stats and show you what safelists and viral list builders have been working best for me during the previous month.

But first, the news…

Actually, there isn’t much news this month.  This biggest thing happening right now is yesterday’s launch of Sean Supplee’s new viral list builder called “List Ablaze“.  The site is running on the same script as many of the other recent viral list builders but with a few custom modifications that should help it outperform some of it’s competitors.

Obviously I don’t have any stats to share for List Ablaze this month but knowing Sean and how well these scripts perform I would definitely recommend getting your ads in there while the site is still hot.

Ok, time for the stats…

I always have to preface this by saying that these are my stats from advertising my sites.  I am promoting a squeeze page and tracking the number of new sign-ups to my list.  I am also upgraded on most of these sites which often allows me to send more emails than free members.

Here’s the top 10 list…

Hits Unique Signups Ratio
Viral URL 102 86.00% 46 45.10%
List Bonus 1785 75.00% 36 2.02%
The Lead Magnet 1192 65.00% 26 2.18%
StateoftheArtMailer 3619 76.00% 20 0.55%
Quick List Profits 553 68.00% 16 2.89%
List Effects 493 66.00% 11 2.23%
AdsolutionLine 2053 44.00% 9 0.44%
AdTactics 1401 68.00% 9 0.64%
AdsolutionLine 393 75.00% 9 2.29%
Elevated Power List 417 56.00% 8 1.92%

Total sign-ups for May from safelists and viral list builders: 245

Another excellent month.  No big surprises.  My gold membership at Viral URL continues to dominate.  List Bonus, The Lead Magnet, and State of the Art Mailer also remain right at the top of the list where they have been for awhile.  If you’re not already a member of any of these they are definitely worth your time.

As I stated earlier these are my stats from advertising my squeeze pages.  Your results may differ but you will never know unless you are tracking your ads.  Need a link tracker?  You can get the same one that I am using for free from TE Toolbox.

The Best Safelists for May 2011

Author: Jerry Iannucci

Greetings and welcome to May!

Let’s hope this month brings a few more flowers and a lot less showers.

The big story this month is… List Bonus!  This new viral list builder quietly launched at the start of last month.  I say quietly because the site had been actively promoted for a few months prior to this as part of the beta testing so when the site officially launched there wasn’t much excitement surrounding it.

List Bonus is rocking!  Lots of sign-ups and very few emails in my inbox.  Check my stats below and you will understand why I am so excited about this one.

Viral Mail Profits is also starting to do really well.  This is the safelist and viral list builder organizer that just added it’s own mailer.  This is a unique mailer with some cool functions.  I have been spending a few extra credits when sending my ads to make people answer a survey question about my page.   This forces people to actually look at my page and gets me some valuable feedback as well.  So far, it is working great.

Ok, let’s get to the stats.

As usual I need to throw out a few disclaimers.  First, these are my stats based on my advertising efforts.  I am advertising my squeeze pages that promote my Safelist Marketing Tactics ebook.  Also, I do have upgraded accounts on most of these sites which sometimes allow me to mail more often than free members.  Your mileage may vary.

Total sign-ups in April from all safelists and viral list builders (including those not listed here): 209

Ok, here’s the stats…

Excellent month for safelists and viral list builders!

As I said earlier, List Bonus is definitely the place to be advertising right now.

Nuff said.

Ok, that’s it for this month.  For once I don’t know of any new launches coming up in the near future.  That’s probably good because I have my hands full right now with more than enough safelists and viral list builders.

Remember, my results may be different than your own but the only way you will ever know is if you are tracking your results.  Don’t have a tracker?  Get one for free when you join TE Toolbox.  That’s what I use and it works for me.

The Best Safelists for March 2011

Author: Jerry Iannucci

Welcome to March!

It’s a new month and that means it’s time to dig out my tracker stats and see which safelists and viral list builders having been performing the best for me lately.

But first… here’s what’s new!

Last month Guido Nussbaum threw his hat into the ring with launch of his own viral list builder called Instant List Empire.  The site launched around the middle of the month so I don’t have a full month of tracking data to share.  But the results I have received so far have been excellent.  I’m looking forward to see how it compares with the other VLBs when I run my stats next month.

The List Auction added a new security feature to their surfbar that prevents more than one credit link from being clicked at a time.  Members are required to view a page for the full 15 seconds before they can move on to the next site.  In theory this should increase conversions but activity has been somewhat slow there lately.  I’m anxious to see if this new technique catches on.

Now for the stats!

If you remember back in January I switched my tracking service to TE Toolbox and starting tracking squeeze pages that build my list instead of splash pages that promote my membership sites.  The results have been great and I am happy to say I have a finally have a full month of stats to share.

From advertising my squeeze pages exclusively in safelists and viral list builders I picked up another 241 subscribers last month.

Keep in mind that I am promoting an offer specifically targeted to safelist users.  I also have upgraded memberships at most of the safelists and viral list builders which often allows me to send more ads more often.  So your results with these sites may vary.

Ok, ok… here’s the list:

Hits Unique Subscribers Ratio
The Lead Magnet 932 60% 27 2.90%
Global Safelist 2,162 38% 22 1.02%
Quick List Profits 809 68% 20 2.47%
Viral URL 45 87% 17 37.78%
AdTactics 1,309 24% 12 0.92%
List Effects 472 64% 10 2.12%
State of the Art Mailer 3,913 75% 10 0.26%
List Joe 1,462 77% 10 0.68%
Viral Ad Store 923 62% 9 0.98%
Instant Profit List 491 67% 9 1.83%

Congrats to Stefan Berg and The Lead Magnet for reclaiming the top spot once again.  Stefan is doing really great stuff with this new VLB.  If you’re not a member yet you’re definitely missing out.

And check out Global Safelist proving you don’t need to be the new kid on the block to be a highly responsive mailer.  I’ve been promoting at Global Safelist for several years now it still continues to produce great results for me.

You might notice a new addition to the list.  I joined Viral URL several years ago as a free member but never got very much out of it.  After constantly hearing about it for so long I decided to try it again with an upgraded “gold” membership.  I didn’t get a ton of traffic but the conversion ratio on the traffic I did receive was outstanding!

That’s all for this month.

Remember, what works best for me might not work as well for you.  The only way to know which advertising sites work the best for you is to track your own results.  You can get a great free tracker and start tracking your ads today from TE Toolbox.

Happy New Year!

That’s right.  Another year of safelist marketing is in the books.  And what a great year it was!  2010 saw more than a few new safelists/mailers step up and compete with the big guys who have dominated the market for years.  I have also started to notice a much wider acceptance of safelists by the Internet marketing community as a whole which benefits all of us.

So what’s new this month?

Not a whole lot, actually.  Probably the best thing that happened last month was The Lead Magnet opening it’s mailer.  The site got off to a slow start and held off opening the mailer until the beginning of last month.  It was well worth the wait though as you will see from the stats below.

Viral Mail Profits, which is a free safelist submission tool, is going to be relaunching on a new script later this month with some really cool features.  Most of this is still a big secret and I can’t say much about it so you didn’t hear about any of this from me.

I have a new site launching next week!  It’s not safelist related but after the launch I am going to release a revised version of my most popular ebook Safelist Marketing Tactics.  Look for that later this month.

And now the stats…

But first, a confession.  My numbers are going to be way off this month.  I took my first vacation in almost two years to visit my family in Connecticut for the holidays.  As much as I love reading safelist credit emails every day I decided to switch all of my accounts to “vacation” mode and enjoy some quality time with my family instead.  The result is that I received far fewer sign-ups than usual but the stats should still reflect which safelists were most responsive from the few mailings I was able to do.

Total Clicks Unique Clicks Action Sales CTA CTS
Adchiever 1,677 1,014 71 17 7.00% 1.68%
The Lead Magnet 856 555 40 14 7.21% 2.52%

StateoftheArtMailer 2,837 1,380 53 8 3.84% 0.58%
List Zillion 720 384 27 8 7.03% 2.08%

DownlineBuilderDirect 823 455 19 6 4.18% 1.32%

“Clicks” is how many people viewed my splash page.  “Action” is how many people clicked the link on my splash page to go to the main site.  “Sales” is how many people joined my site.  CTA and CTS are “clicks to action” and “clicks to sale”.  I ranked these safelists by sales but it is also important to look at the other numbers to determine how responsive each safelist really is.

Not nearly as bad as I was expecting.

A big congrats to Adchiever for landing in the top spot this month.  I don’t know about you but it seems like every time I try to send an email with Adchiever the mailer is always down for maintenance and the volume of emails that the site sites out does takes a lot of work to stay on top of but the results are well worth the effort.  If you are not a member of Adchiever yet you are missing out on the best new mailer of 2010.

And a special shout out to Stefan Berg’s The Lead Magnet.  This mailer has only been running since the beginning of December and is already producing some great results.  The membership is still rather small but Stefan is doing a great job at making sure it’s a responsive membership.  Check it out!

That’s it for this month.  I look forward to all the big stuff happening this month including a new mailer launching on the 11th which I think is going to do really well.

As always I like to point out that the stats above are the result of my own efforts advertising my own sites.  What works best for me might not necessarily work best for you.  That is why it is important to always track your own results.  You can get a free link tracker from TEToolbox.

Welcome to December!

Lots of stuff happened last month so let’s jump right into it.

Darren Olander launched Adchiever at the beginning of November.  This was probably one of the biggest launches i’ve seen so far for a new safelist/viral list builder.  The site opened with a pre-launch with the mailer scheduled to open a week later.  Unfortunately some technical problems kept the mailer from opening on time but it did eventually open.

Adchiever has a bunch of cool features to keep it’s members active.  Now that the mailer is open I am receiving 200+ emails a day which is a lot but the results have been worth it.  As you can see from the stats below even with only 2-3 weeks of mailings Adchiever is performing right up there with the best mailers.  If you are not a member yet this is definitely one to join.

Another new launch was Stefan Berg’s The Lead Magnet.  This one got off to a much slower start.  We just hit 1,000 members (1,001 right now) and opened the mailer last night.  I love what Stefan has done with this site and expect this to show some good results on my stats next month.

I wrote a review last month about a new software product called Safelist Genie.  Unfortunately my review wasn’t very positive.  I could probably make a lot of money by promoting this software but given the version I tested I could not recommend it to my readers in good conscience.  The good news is that the creator was responsive to my suggestions so hopefully I will be able to give it a second look soon. Safelist Genie is free for 15-days so if you want to try it for yourself be my guest.

There’s a new mailer coming soon from the creators of Sweeva. It’s still being developed and I am not supposed to talk about it yet so you didn’t hear it from me.  Shhh!

Ok, let’s get to the stats!

The stats you see below are my own tracking stats for several splash pages that I am rotating at various safelists and viral list builders.  I am upgraded in most of these sites and try to do the maximum daily mailings so please take that into consideration when deciding which sites to join.

Go Quick List Profits! Definitely didn’t expect to see this one at the top of the list but this program is kicking butt.  This is a brand new program from my friend Kym Robinson.  If you’re not a member of Quick List Profits yet get in there now!

List Joe always rocks.  No surprise there.

And a big welcome to AdchieverAdchiever didn’t open until just a few weeks ago but this site is already delivering as promised.  I can’t wait to see how many sign-ups I get this month.

I guess that’s gonna do it for this month.

Of course I always like to point out these are my own personal stats and there are lot of different factors that go into getting these sign-ups.  Obviously your results may vary.  I provide this information as a guide for you to try out new safelists and viral list builders.  The only way to know which sites work best for you is to track your own ads.  You can get a free link tracker from TEToolbox.

The Best Safelists for November 2010

Author: Jerry Iannucci

Happy Monday and Happy November!

It’s the first of the month and that means it’s time for another update on the best safelist and viral list builders that I am currently using.

So last month someone asked me what I dislike most about safelists.  I didn’t have to think about it too long before telling them how much I hate the 24-hour submission rule.  You see, most safelists and viral list builders limit your mailing to once ever 24 hours, or 48 hours, or 72 hours.  Basically it means submitting at the same time every day and not a minute earlier.  Unfortunately no matter how punctual you are you almost always end up a few minutes late which pushes your start time later and later every day.  Eventually you find yourself up at 3:00 am waiting to submit your sites so you can go to bed.

Due to the 24-hour submission time I probably lost at least 4 or 5 days of mailings last month.  I’m sorry, but I am not always thinking about safelists at 3:00 am and if I forget it’s going to be at least another 8 hours before I am awake.  It seems like having an 18-hour submission cycle would make life so much easier, but that’s just me.

That’s enough ranting.. what else is new?

Quick List Profits launched at the beginning of last month.  New mailers always seem to generate a lot of excitement when they launch and this one was no exception.  They already have 3539 verified members and placed really well in my ranking below.  Let’s hope the momentum continues.

I’ve been bad.  One of the first sites to launch using the script that Quick List Profits is on was called Instant Profit List.  At the time I didn’t know how to categorize the site and so it’s stats weren’t being saved along with my other safelists.  It turns out Instant Profit List has been one of my most responsive mailers over the last few months but I have neglected to include it in my reports.  That ends today!  Check the stats below to see how well Instant Profit List is performing.

List Building Maximizer made an interesting move last month.  To celebrate their 10,000th member they decided to offer $10 solo ads for 10 days (they are usually $25).  This resulted in a flood of solo ads being sent to my inbox every day.  If that wasn’t bad enough as soon as the promotion ended they started offering $12 solo ads for 12 days.  This should have made the regular mailer virtually worthless but surprisingly my stats weren’t down too much.  It did just miss making it onto the stats list below but only because of the two new additions.

Speaking of stats…

What you see below are my link tracking stats for several splash pages that I am promoting on a rotator in various safelists and viral list builders.  Yes, I have upgraded memberships in almost all of these sites so take that in consideration if your numbers aren’t as high as mine.

Considering how many days I missed last month those numbers aren’t looking too bad.

Big congrats to List Joe for making it back to the top again just barely beating out State of the Art Mailer.  These two sites are both equally awesome and I am glad to be a member of both.

I would also like to welcome Quick List Profits and Instant Profit List as the newest additions to the top list.  As I mentioned earlier Instant Profit List should have been added months ago but better late than never.

I guess that’s it for this month.

As usual these stats are the result of my own efforts using my own splash pages.  Depending on what you are promoting and how often to are promoting it your results may vary.  Of course the only way to know is by tracking your own ads.  You can get free link tracker that will track all of your ads from TE Toolbox.

The Best Safelists for October 2010

Author: Jerry Iannucci

Hello and welcome to October!

I’m sure glad last month is over.  I’ve been doing a lot offline work at a new concert venue here in town and haven’t had much time to work on my online stuff.  When I am online I’ve been spending much of my time branding myself and building my list at Sweeva.  The results have been fantastic but the social aspect can be very time consuming.

Even with all that going on I still manage to find time to do my safelist and viral list builder submissions every day.  Before we get to the monthly safelist stats here’s what’s going on in the industry…

Two new list builders launched last month.  Both of them are running on the same script that List Effects started using a few months ago.  The script doesn’t offer a lot of bells and whistles but for a mailer it gets the job done.

The first site launched at the beginning of last month called Power Profit List.  The site is owned my Michael Coursey who is a well respected traffic exchange owner.  As you will see in my stats below Power Profit List is performing well above expectations.  Hopefully that will continue into this month.

The other new mailer just launched yesterday and is called Quick List Profits.  They are waiting until they hit 2000 members before they open the mailing part of the site but considering over 1000 people joined yesterday I am guessing we won’t have to wait long.  I just know that when the mailer opens at Quick List Profits I am going to enjoy getting my ads in front of those 2000 new members.

And finally, my good friend Winter Perkins dropped a bombshell on me earlier this week when she told me she is going to be taking over Reactive Adz from David Foley.  Reactive Adz is an amazing looking safelist but in my opinion it has never fully lived up to it’s potential.  I think Winter has what it takes to whip Reactive Adz back into shape.  I don’t think the take over is official yet but look for some big changes at Reactive Adz over the next few months.

Ok, ready for the stats?

Like any other successful Internet marketer I use tracking links to gather valuable statistics about my ads to let me know which advertising sites are bringing me the best results.  Every month I share my safelist and viral list builder stats here on my blog.  These stats are a results of promoting several splash pages for my ebook Safelist Marketing Tactics.  I do pay for upgraded memberships at most of these safelists so if the numbers seem higher than what you are getting as a free member that’s probably why.

Have I mentioned how much I love State of the Art Mailer?  (swoon)

It’s nice to see List Joe back on top again where it belongs.  Welcome back List Joe!

The newest entry on the list is Power Profit List which launched at the beginning of last month.  Not a huge amount of traffic but it’s very “active” traffic which is what really counts.  Let’s hope that momentum carries into next month as well.

The big shocker this month is DownlineBuilderDirect.  This site has been around for awhile as a non-credit based viral list builder but recently made the switch to credits.  I picked up a lifetime upgrade and was starting to think I wasted my money after the dismal results I was receiving over the last few months.  Looks like things are finally picking up!

If you are not already a member of ListBuildingMaximizer you can join there and you are sure to receive some solo ads offering discounts on the upgrade at DownlineBuilderDirect.  Even if you’re not interested the upgrade you should be a member of ListBuildingMaximizer anyways because it’s just an excellent mailer.

That’s it for this update.  Keep in mind that all the stats you see above are a result of my own advertising efforts with my own ads.  Your results may vary but you’ll never know it unless you are tracking your ads!  You can get a free link tracker that will show you which ad sites work best for you from TE Toolbox.

The Best Safelists for August 2010

Author: Jerry Iannucci

Hello and welcome to August!

Everything appears to be bright and sunny in the world of Safelist Marketing.

I posted a couple of individual reviews last month for Reactive Adz and State of the Art Mailing System.  If you missed them, check them out.

Unfortunately due to a nasty malware infection on my computer (don’t worry,  I squashed it) I wasn’t able to write my review of List Zillion last week.  I’ll try and have that done sometime this week.

Also, I mentioned last month that I would be testing out some solo ads.  I ended up spending close to $300 on solo ads!  The results are in and I’ll be posting those stats here sometime soon.

As soon as I finish writing this I am going to join two new safelists that recently launched and test them out.  I’ll let you know how that goes next month.

Finally, I am happy to report that one of my favorite non-credit-based viral list builders is now credit based!  Downline Builder Direct gives you the ability to build your downline 20 levels deep.  Now with the credit emails you can reach an even larger audience without referring.

Ok… who’s ready for some stats?

The numbers you see below are the result of me promoting two different splash pages for my site Safelist Marketing Tactics.  I have premium memberships on most of the sites below which allow me to email the maximum number of members as often as I can.

Total Clicks Unique Clicks Action Sales CTA CTS
State of Art Mailer 4,407 2,142 132 26 6.16% 1.21%
List Auction 1,362 731 54 16 7.39% 2.19%

ListBuildingMaximizer 2,463 1,036 55 14 5.31% 1.35%
AdTactics 2,585 924 75 13 8.12% 1.41%
List Joe 1,366 994 52 12 5.23% 1.21%
ViralAdStore 1,273 672 45 12 6.70% 1.79%
Elite Safelist 2,227 939 43 8 4.58% 0.85%

Got Safelist 1,808 892 23 6 2.58% 0.67%

“Clicks” is how many people viewed my splash page.  “Action” is how many people clicked the link on my splash page to go to the main site.  “Sales” is how many people joined my site.  CTA and CTS are “clicks to action” and “clicks to sale”.  I ranked these safelists by sales but it is also important to look at the other numbers to determine how responsive each safelist really is.

I can’t believe I avoided joining State of the Art Mailing System for so long.  It was at the top of my list last month and this month I got TWICE as many sign-ups!  If you are not a member of this safelist yet you don’t know what you’re missing.

When did List Zillion join the ranks of the best safelists?  I guess I really should write that review.  Soon, I promise!  For now i’ll just say yes, it really is that good.

Overall I would say it was a very good month.  Anybody who still doubts the effectiveness of safelist marketing is missing out some real quality traffic.

Ok.  Another report down!  Now I gotta go join those new safelists, write some more reviews, and write that ranking of the top solo ads.  It’s gonna be another busy month!

And don’t forget, these stats are the results of my own marketing methods.  What works best for my sites might not necessarily work for yours.  The only way to know for sure is to track your results!  You can get a free link tracker from from TE Toolbox.

The Best Safelists for June 2010

Author: Jerry Iannucci

Welcome to June!  It’s a new month and that means it’s time for me to dig out my safelist stats from last month and see what are the top safelists right now based on my current advertising campaigns.

Not a lot of news to report for last month.  I did weed out about half a dozen smaller safelists that I had been using which were not producing a lot of sign-ups.  It was hard because most of these safelists were still bringing in a few sign-ups every month but as my list of safelists that I use daily continues to grow I find myself having less time to focus on the sites that are bringing me the best results.

That means I now have some free time to test out some newer sites and to retest some sites that I haven’t used in a very long time.  While I don’t have stats for them yet you can expect to find List Zillion, State of the Art Mailer System, and Reactive Ads in here next month.

Speaking of newer sites…  There are a lot of good programs out there that go right over my head because I can’t always distinguish them from all of the junk.  If you know of any safelists or viral list builders that are working for you but you haven’t seen me mention here feel free to post your referral link in the comments.

Ok, time for the stats.  Over the last few weeks I have been promoting my splash pages in Sweeva and have gotten some really interesting feedback.  I decided that instead of just advertising one splash page in my safelist ads I would put three of them into a rotator and advertise that instead.  I’ve been doing this for the last two weeks.  So far so good.  All of the splash pages that I am promoting on these safelists are being used to promote my site Safelist Marketing Tactics.

Not a great month, actually.  List Effects managed to hang on to the top spot again but just barely.  Everything else seems to have either stayed the same or dropped slightly.

As usual I should point out that these are my own personal stats from  promoting my own personal splash pages.  These numbers are only meant to be a guide to help you decide which safelists and viral listbuilders are worth trying.  Your results will probably be different from my own so the only way to know for sure which sites work best for you is to track your own results.  You can get a free link tracker from TEToolbox.
