The Best Safelists for October 2014

Author: Jerry Iannucci

Summer is over.

This is typically one of the busiest periods of the year and a great time to be out there promoting.

Rather than join every new mailer that comes up I have just been focusing on the ones I already have.  I did just join the new Legends Mailer that was just released by Janet Legere and Matthew Graves.  No stats yet (I just joined) but definitely one to keep an eye on.

Here’s the rest of my stats.

As usual I am promoting my own Mister Safelist.  I do have quite a few upgraded memberships and I spend time every day reading emails to earn enough credits to send my ads as often as possible.

Hits Unique Signups Ratio
Bweeble 1743 63.00% 4 0.23%
Instant Viral Mailer 771 45.00% 4 0.52%
Traffic Zip 558 62.00% 3 0.54%
Viral URL 138 71.00% 3 2.17%
List Adventure 2458 45.00% 2 0.08%
Elite Safelist 1069 53.00% 2 0.19%
List Viral 762 52.00% 2 0.26%
My Free Resources 1454 60.00% 2 0.14%
Puffin Mailer 2803 32.00% 2 0.07%
Viral List Builder Plus 2676 50.00% 2 0.07%

Total September sign-ups: 39

Another weak month for me.  The last few months I had excuses but I mailed almost every day last month.  I’m not sure what is going on.  Perhaps with so many new mailers being promoted out there it’s just getting hard for an ancient (3 years old) safelist to stand out.  Any thoughts?

That’s all for this month.  Remember these stats are only provided to show what is working best for me.  To know what works best for you… track your ads!

    Hi Jerry,

Might be time to revert back to a squeezepage to build your list and sell mistersafelist on the backend?

I’m sure many people would benefit from downloading safelist marketing tactics.

I was thinking EXACTLY the same thing. I was getting much better results when I was promoting my SMT squeeze pages. The problem is that I need to updated the book for 2014. Ever tried reading something you wrote years ago? Every time I have tried editing it over the last few months I throw my hands up in disgust a few pages in. It’s been at the top of my to-do list for a long time. Maybe this month :)

Good to see IVM in the Top. But I am feeling the same way. Past 4 months were not good enough. These new launches are just plaguing the entire Market. I am not pinpointing new owners. But the ones who launch one after another with no uniqueness. Like Andrew said, may be you have to go back for SafelistTactics and see how it performs.

It’s been a little slower the last few months for myself as well. I dunno if it was because of the end of summer and the kids going back to school or what.

Part of me agrees it has to do with all the new mailers out there which most of them don’t even make it to 500+ members.

So if there are 30 mailers with the above numbers and out of the 500 members you get about 20 upgrades X that by 30 = 600 paying members being sucked up by mailers that are very very low quality in my eyes.

The goal now for anyone that owns a mailer, safelist, te whatever is to think of new areas to market to bring in fresh new people outside of the industry. Google PPC, Facebook Ads etc…

I do believe “Launch Fever” plagues the advertising industry. An old site, which is anything over 6 months these days, doesn’t stand a chance against the glitz and glam of being one of the first members.

Anyone in the advertising industry knows, you need these old sites because they have the established membership bases which will provide the results advertisers need.

The advertising industry is changing once again…. should be a fun ride.

Hi Jerry – I love what you do and what you stand for. I really appreciate you sharing what is working (or not) for you. I agree all the new launches are a bit problematic. I also think the bigger challenge is creative. It’s just so hard to get anybody’s attention any more. ON TEs, I’m a little bit slow because I do look at many of the ads…but I don’t think people on TE’s or safelists are really lloking at the ads. You almost have to hit people over th head with your offer. Good luck to you and all the folks who read this and comment!

Thanks Jerry for joining Legends. I also have seen a drop in new signups across all my mailers over the last few months. I think that the launches do play into it somewhat, but I think the big problem is just not enough new people coming into the mailer world as members. Same thing has happened in the TE world too. Not as many new faces, and they are divided over a lot more sites. If you look at the new member numbers in Affiliate Funnel for TE’s, you see the trend.

That’s very true. Especially with TEs you only have about a second to get someone’s attention and make them curious enough to click your ad. Oddly I have been able to do that with most of the other things I promote but for some reason I have never been able to knock it out of the park with Mister Safelist. I will just have to keep on trying.

Hi Jerry, Thanks so much for posting your current safelists. It’s always good to know which ones are producing the best. I am interested in checking out Matthew and Janet’s new mailer. As for Safelist Tactics… I actually just read it again recently, the content is still solid, all you really need to do is update some of the info and you should be good to go! :)

There’s a huge pool of people on PTC and PTR sites. If someone advertised on those sites and did a good job of educating the leads there would be a lot of new safelist members and problem solved.
