The Best Safelists for May 2018

Author: Jerry Iannucci

Hidely-Ho Surferenos!

It’s May the 1st and in spite of a few road blocks presented earlier this year safelists and viral mailers continue to be one of the best bang for your buck advertising sources available to us today.

This month’s new featured mailer is “Trend Mails” from Brenton Senegal and Clare Bowen which launched on April 11.  I don’t know what it is but I really love the clean design of this mailer. Probably the best feature though is the reward points which can be traded in for extra credits, login ads, and even raffle tickets to win cash prizes.  I don’t have a full month of test results to share yet but so far my last few mailings there have averaged about 60 visitors each with a CTR of about 7%.  If you are interested in trying something new then Trend Mails is definitely worth checking out.

Ok, let’s get to the rest of the stats…

During the month of April I used my daily safelist mailings to promote squeeze pages for my book Safelist Marketing Tactics.  My stats are generated from using only the credit mailers and do not include login ads or banners ads or anything like that.  I am upgraded at most of these sites and do spend time every day reading emails to earn credits.  I currently submit to 30-40 different safelists.  I don’t use every safelist out there and I am constantly updating that list based on my advertising results.  I do not include my own Mister Safelist here as I prefer to let other reviewers take care of that.  I provide these stats only to show what is currently working best for me.  Your results may vary.

Hits Unique Signups Ratio
State of the Art Mailer 4255 58.00% 7 0.16%
European Safelist 4960 51.00% 6 0.12%
Bweeble 2258 54.00% 5 0.22%
The Lead Magnet 555 52.00% 5 0.90%
TezzerMail 2605 56.00% 4 0.15%
Viral URL 128 84.00% 4 3.13%
List Adventure 2586 39.00% 4 0.15%
List Avail 1178 56.00% 3 0.25%

Total April Sign-ups: 60

Not a bad month.  I did miss a few mailings towards the end thanks to a last minute camping trip but I am confident recommending any of these mailers (plus Mister Safelist) to anyone looking for good cheap advertising for their business.

Please note that the stats above are provided only to show what is working best for me.  What works best for you might be something entirely different.  The only way to know what sites work best for you is to track your own ads.  You can get the same link tracker that I use by signing up for trck.me.

I’ve been using safelists as my main source of traffic, quite simply – what I promote is for the IM area and two the response is almost immediate. I would agree with your top 3 for CTR. I have to say you’re obviously being modest about your own safelist, I’d put it at number 2 for responsiveness. I would also think as a safelist owner yourself it would be bad form to have a worst list (quite frankly you’d probably spend two or three months compiling some of the mismatches out there.) Still trial and error I suppose is part of the game, at least you’re cutting some of that learning curve down with your updated lists.

Thanks Steve! Yeah, I think there would be too much competition for a “worst list” ;) I’m not interested in shaming any owners which is why I cut my list off where I do. If your list can’t generate a single sign-up over a month me telling everyone about it isn’t going to help.
