Reactive Adz – Safelist Review

Author: Jerry Iannucci

It’s getting near the end of the month and I just realized I have only written one review of the new safelists I tested last month.

So, i’m going to do a nice quick and easy review today of Reactive Adz.

Reactive Adz really isn’t a new safelist.  I actually joined when it launched about 2 years ago (I think) because I won a free 1-month upgraded membership.  I tested the site then but it was still very new and didn’t have a very large membership so the results weren’t great.

I let my upgraded membership expire and I had not logged into the site again until last month.  I decided to give it another shot and see if it had improved since my previous experience.

Reactive Adz is owned and operated by David Foley who runs a very successful traffic exchange called Traffic Taxis.

One of the interesting things about the Reactive Adz homepage is that there is absolutely no mention of the word “safelist”.  I know safelists might be considered outdated in some circles which could be why they choose to distance themselves from the word but rest assured Reactive Adz is indeed a credits based safelist.  In fact, it is run on the exact same script as some of the most popular credit safelists.  So while the ad copy may promote list building you should know that you are only going to build a list with Reactive Adz if you are promoting your own lead capture page with your own autoresponder.

I think one of the things that really sets Reactive Adz apart from other safelists is the design of the site.  Reactive Adz is literally oozing with style as the “radioactive” theme can be found everywhere on the site.  This has nothing to do with how responsive the site is but it sure makes it more fun to login there every day and it should make getting referrals easier when they get a look at the design.

Speaking of referrals, Reactive Adz offers some great upgrade offers and generous commissions from your downline.  I even snatched up a lifetime upgrade offer which I am sure made whoever my sponsor is very happy.  If you hate seeing upgrade offers then Reactive Adz might not be great for you but there is definitely no shortage of ways to make money from your referrals.

One other really good thing about Reactive Adz is that they keep the number of emails in your inbox to a minimum.  I think I average about 30 emails a day.  I also find it difficult to stockpile credits.  Even as an upgraded member those daily credit emails become very valuable if you want to be able to email the entire list every day.  This usually results in a very responsive safelist since more members are actively opening their emails every day.

Ok, so what about the stats?

June 21 – July 21
Raw Clicks:  3,038
Unique Clicks:  907
Actions:  119
Sign-ups:  4

“Actions” represents the number of people who clicked the link on my splash page to go to my main site.  119 seems like a really high number of clicks to receive only 4 sign-ups.  I’m pretty sure my site converts better than that but… the numbers don’t lie.

This seems like pretty mixed results to me.  On one hand Reactive Adz is bringing a lot of very active people to my site but unfortunately not many of them are actually signing up.  This is something I am going to have to keep my eye on.  It’s possible I just need to find a better offer that interests these people however it’s surprising that my ads that work great on other safelists are not yet doing it for me here.

So overall.. mixed results.  I’ll definitely keep using Reactive Adz as part of my daily safelist routine and hopefully my number of sign-ups will start to increase soon.  I’ll keep you posted.

As I mentioned a few days ago I want to start doing more reviews of individual safelists, viral list builders, and whatever other programs I have been using lately.

The first site I want to review is “A State of the Art Mailing System“.  State of the Art Mailer is a relatively new safelist created by Jay Pause and Brad Webb which launched a few months ago.

A State of the Art Mailer System appears to be using a unique mailer script.  I would say it’s more of a safelist than a viral list builder but there are number of unique features that makes State of the Art Mailer stand out from other sites.

One of the things you will notice is that when you join you are first asked to look at 5 websites belonging to other members before continuing.  I guess this is the “viral” aspect of the program because when you refer people your ad gets displayed in the 2nd position for your downline members to view and when they refer people your ad appears in the 3rd position.  Upgraded members can also have their ads randomly displayed in the other positions.  This is supposed to generate hands free traffic to your pages.  I’ve never been crazy about these kinds of systems but whatever.  I have referred 2 people and my pages have so far gotten 8 hits.

You only have to do this when you first join.  Otherwise you get presented with a login offer from Jay and Brad along with an advertiser’s full-page ad.  You can earn credits if you view the full-page ad for 20 seconds or you can skip it and go right into the site.

The members area first appears a little confusing with 20 different menu options being presented to you.   The most important items are right at the start though with “Mail Now” being the very first.

So what makes State of the Art Mailer special?

SOTAM uses a unique mailing method called the “Button Escalation System” which rewards active members with the ability to send their ads to more members.  It’s a little confusing but there’s a really good video on the site which explains it:

Basically when you start out as a free member you can email 500 members every 7 days.  However if you are active and read enough credit emails from other members you can get bumped up to higher level buttons which let you reach more members.

You can also upgrade your membership which gives you automatic access to the higher buttons as well as the ability to email every 3 days instead of 7.  I purchased the 5000 button upgrade when I joined and so far have had no trouble reaching the 7500 button which allows me to email almost the entire membership every 3 days.

It’s been about 2 months since I joined and so far the results have been excellent. They even post live mailing stats in the members area so that you can see exactly how well the system is working.

7 7 2010 12 39 48 AM1 A State of the Art Mailer System Review

According to my own personal stats from last month I received 3,430 visitors to my splash pages which resulted in 13 new sign-ups to my program.  That’s a pretty decent conversion rate but the fact that a site this new is producing numbers like this is very impressive.

There’s a bunch of other unique features such as the “profit sharing pool” for active members (I earned a whopping $2.09 last month) as well as an “instant recruiting” system which apparently is still being worked on and hasn’t been added to the site yet.

Overall I am very impressed with the State of the Art Mailer.  The site isn’t real pretty but the results are what counts.  I think Jay and Brad have created something really unique here and I am looking forward to what they have planned for the future.

Hello!  I’m back.  Sorry I have been kinda quiet lately but I have been busy putting together some new projects while I will be announcing very soon.

For example… You might have noticed that over the last year I have been working very hard to brand myself as “the safelist guy” and it all started with a little ebook and website that I created called “Safelist Marketing Tactics“.

Well, it’s been 1-year since I released SMT so I thought now would be the perfect time for a relaunch of Safelist Marketing Tactics!

I have a bunch of new stuff that I just finished adding.  Feel free
to drop and and check it out:

http://safelisttactics.com

Here’s what is new…

New Content

Since first writing Safelist Marketing Tactics over a year ago I have continued
to learn new and more effective ways to market with safelists.  I’ve now updated the book to include more current content including more submission strategies, more information about vial list builders, and a few changes to the recommended programs list.

Squeeze Pages

Upgraded members will now have the ability to upload a photo and submit their autoresponder code to create their own personalized squeeze page (created by the great Winter Perkins).

There’s also a 5-part email series which you can use to promote your own programs that also encourages upgrades at the SMT website.

New Promo Material

I updated the “Thank You” ad.  I hated the old one.  This one is much better.

I also added a few new promo emails which have been converting well for me lately.

New “One Time Offer”

I updated the OTO page to include some really nice video packages included which I think will convert really well with new safelist marketers.

I also reset the OTO for the first time since I launched the site.  Considering it’s been a year since I reset the OTO you might want to pay attention the next time you see it.  I may never reset it again.

Referral Contest

Why not?

The person who signs-up the most upgraded members to the Safelist  Marketing Tactics website before the end of July 15 will win… (drum roll)…

One Hundred Dollars!

I’ll be posting daily updates of the contest inside the members area.

So that’s it!

If you are already a member of Safelist  Marketing Tactics I thank you for all the support and positive and feedback I have received over the past year.  Please login now to check out all the new features.  I think you’ll enjoy it.

If you’re not a member yet… what are you waiting for?  It’s free and it’s better than ever.  Click the image below to grab your free copy of Safelist  Marketing Tactics.

Instant Profit List – Prelaunch

Author: Jerry Iannucci

Happy Thursday!

Boy, this week is going by fast.

I just wanted to do a quick post to let everybody know that Frank Salinas is getting ready to launch a brand new site and that we are currently inviting new members to join during prelaunch.

The site is called Instant Profit List.

Prelaunch basically means you can sign-up for free now and start earning some fast instant commissions but the mailer won’t be available until we hit 5,000 members.

Frank is also giving out $100 in free ads to anybody who joins during the prelaunch!

Btw, in case you forgot, the last site that Frank Salinas launched was a little site called “List Effects“.  If you read my blog then you will know that List Effects is currently my #1 most effective safelist.  So you know that Instant Profit List is going to be huge!

The Best Safelists for May 2010

Author: Jerry Iannucci

Hello and welcome to my latest posting where I attempt to rank the top safelists and viral listbuilders based on my own stats from the previous month.

Before getting into the rankings I like to go over some of the major events in the safelist world which happened during the last month.  Unfortunately, there aren’t any.  No major launches to speak of.  No big changes.  ViralAdStore changed their graphics to make them a little brighter but that’s about it.

I did cut back a little bit last month from some of the smaller exchanges that haven’t been producing well enough for me.  I also either canceled my upgraded memberships or downgraded to a less expensive membership on some of the safelists that weren’t bringing me enough sign-ups to justify the price of an upgrade.  I usually estimate that each sign-up I get to my list is worth about $1.00 so if I am spending $20/month on an upgrade and only getting 4 or 5 sign-ups, it’s probably not worth it.

One thing I started doing last month that I hadn’t been doing much before is taking advantage of safelists that allow you to send more than 1 ad per day.  This usually requires being an upgraded member and spending more time clicking for credits but it has allowed me to diversify a bit and send out a wider variety of ads.  So far the two best I have found for sending multiple ads are Elite Safelist and European Safelist.  Both of these sites are well worth the price for the upgrade.

I also tried out a few newer safelists that launched over the last few months.  The results were poor at best.  Maybe I will try them again in a few months if they are able to attract a few new members.  For now it’s better to stick with the safelists that have been around for awhile and are proven to work.

Ok, stats time!  All of these numbers are a result of advertising my video splash page for Safelist Marketing Tactics.

Total Clicks

Unique Clicks Action Sales CTA CTS
List Effects
1,501 921 55 22 5.97% 2.39%
ViralAdStore 2,240 1,141 64 21 5.61% 1.84%
List Auction 2,021 995 67 13 6.73% 1.31%
ListBuildingMaximizer 1,448 703 36 13 5.26% 1.85%
List Joe
1,848 1,298 59 12 4.55% 0.92%
Adsolutionline 2,719 931 49 7 5.26% 0.75%
Elite Safelist 2,018 818 64 6 7.82% 0.73%
Global Safelist
1,123 524 37 6 7.06% 1.15%

“Clicks” is how many people viewed my splash page.  “Action” is how many people clicked the link on my splash page to go to the main site.  “Sales” is how many people joined my site.  CTA and CTS are “clicks to action” and “clicks to sale”.  I ranked these safelists by sales but it is also important to look at the other numbers to determine how responsive each safelist really is.

As we can see List Effects continues to stay on top however it’s not dominating quite as much as it had been over the last few months.  It will be interesting to see if it can continue to stay on top next month.

ViralAdStore has climbed back to the top of the list after having dropped quite a few places over the last few months.  Maybe those new graphics are working for them after all.

No other real big surprises but it is nice to see Adsolutionline and Global Safelist back on the list again.

Once again I want to remind everyone that these are my own personal stats from promoting my own personal splash pages.  These stats are only meant to be a guide to help you choose which safelists and viral listbuilders to use.  Your results will probably be different from my own but the only way to know for sure which sites work best for you is to track your own results.  You can get a free link tracker from TEToolbox.

Safelist Experts Tell All

Author: Jerry Iannucci

Happy Saturday!

Can you believe that anybody would want to interview me?

It’s true.  In fact I didn’t quite know how to react when John Karnish contacted me a few months ago with the idea of interviewing me for his new book he was writing about safelist marketing.

Of course I agreed.

And now you can read that interview at Safelist Experts Tell All.

Let me tell you a little about how this all came about because I think this is really great.

I’ve talked before about how important it is for you to have your own product but I can understand that not everyone out there is the greatest writer.  I’ve mentioned that one way to get around this is to simply do an interview with someone who knows more about a subject than you do.

And that’s exactly what John did.

John contacted myself and three other big name safelist marketers and asked us the important questions that everybody needs to know about marketing with safelists.

The result is that John now has his own ebook jam packed with quality content and he only had to write about one page himself.

Pretty clever, right?

What’s also great is that John is giving everyone who signs up for his free ebook access to his affiliate program that pays 75% commissions on the one-time-offer.

And let me just say something about this one-time-offer.  I think John is nuts!
This thing is waaaay underpriced.  Even if you don’t buy it yourself (and you
should because it’s a steal) you’ll have no problem converting any free members you send to his site.

So, what are you waiting for?

Click the image below to get your copy.

It’s really good!

I know because I wrote 1/4 of it :)

The Best Safelists for April 2010

Author: Jerry Iannucci

This just in… Safelist marketing DOES NOT WORK!

Ok, now that i’ve gotten my April Fools joke out of the way… Happy April!

It seems that there is not much news to talk about in the world of safelist marketing this month.  Well, that’s not entirely true.  Global Safelist just hit 10,000 members.  That’s a pretty big milestone in anybody’s book.  Congratulations Doug!

List Building Maximizer just announced that they are giving away $1,000 in their referral contest which is running through May 31.  I’m pretty sure they are still giving away $1.00 per referral as well.  I can’t find any info about that on the site but I do keep finding random $1.00 payments in my account so it must be true.

Ok, That’s it for the news… let get to the stats!  These stats come from advertising my video splash page for Safelist Marketing Tactics.

Total Clicks

Unique Clicks Action Sales CTA CTS
List Effects
1,742 1,072 117 35 10.91% 3.26%
ListBuildingMaximizer 1,817 843 37 18 4.39% 2.14%
List Auction 1,646 1,028 47 16 4.57% 1.56%
List Joe 1,629 1,147 51 15 4.45% 1.31%
Elite Safelist 1,565 694 24 13 3.46% 1.87%
ViralAdStore 1,654 943 37 10 3.92% 1.06%
Got Safelist 4,041 1,595 44 9 2.76% 0.56%
FreeSafelistMailer 1,333 609 23 6 3.78% 0.99%

“Clicks” is how many people viewed my splash page.  “Action” is how many people clicked the link on my splash page to go to the main site.  “Sales” is how many people joined my site.  CTA and CTS are “clicks to action” and “clicks to sale”.  I ranked these safelists by sales but it is also important to look at the other numbers to determine how responsive each safelist really is.

Once again List Effects is killing it!  I just wish understood why.  The site is brand new and to be honest it’s not very pretty but somehow it is managing to blow away all of the competition.  I guess I gotta give props to Frank Salinas & Jon Atwood for releasing one very responsive site.

List Building Maximizer also continues to impress me.  For just being a regular credit based safelist it has managed to hang with the big viral list building two months in a row.  Same goes for Elite Safelist which seems to get better and better every month.

It’s great to see List Auction and List Joe back on top again.  I was getting a little worried last month when they started to slip in the rankings.  Both of these sites have been consistent performers for me and I would have hated to lose them.

I guess that’s gonna do it for this month.

Of course I always need to point out these are my own personal stats and depending on what you are promoting your results may vary.  I provide this information as a guide for trying out new safelists that you might not already be a member of.  It is important that you track your ads to find out which safelists work best for you.  You can get a free link tracker from TEToolbox.

The Best Safelists for February 2010

Author: Jerry Iannucci

It just occurred to me that putting the name of the previous month in the title of these posts make them appear outdated the second I post them.  So from now on I will be using last month’s stats to look forward at all the safelists I will be focusing on in the current month.

And it couldn’t have come at a better time because frankly last month sucked.  Not so much for the safelists but for my own productivity.  You can tell just by looking at how many times I updated my blog last month.  I spent yesterday doing absolutely nothing in preparation for being extra productive today.  Considering this is my second post of the day I guess that good but I had also planned on having this done at least 6 hours ago so maybe not so good.

Safelist news!  Oh boy we had finally had some excitement around here.  Usually not much usually happens in this industry but a few months ago some scum bag named Andrew Baxter thought it was be a good idea to create a software product that allows people to cheat credit based safelists.  Basically this software downloads all your safelist emails and clicks all the credit links for you meaning you never need to actually view the ads of other members.

This is exactly the type of software that nearly killed the safelist industry a few years ago.  If everyone started using this software then nobody would be viewing your ads which would make posting to safelists useless.

I happy to announce that last month many of the larger safelists began fighting back by implementing “cheat protection” in their emails in the form of captcha codes that must be entered before you can earn credits.  This and some other techniques appear to be working so far.  It’s also a great a way to find out who the cheaters are so their accounts can be removed from the safelist.

This change couldn’t have come soon enough.  It’s got to be assumed that there are always going to be a small percentage of people cheating but nobody has ever been stupid enough to do it so publicly.  These new security changes should hopefully make safelists even more responsive while cutting down on the number of emails being sent by the cheaters.

Here is the list I have so far of the safelists that have added some form of cheat protection last month for their members:

AdTactics
Elite Safelist
FreeSafelistMailer
Smart Safelist
Target Safelist

If you know of any others please let me know.

Update: Feb 2, 2010
Supreme List, List Building Maximizer, and Global Safelist have also added cheat protection.  Global Safelist is actually using a number matching test like you would see on a traffic exchange.  That’s awesome!

Oh, and if you one of the people who bought the cheat software from Andrew Baxter feel free to ask him for a refund.  I am sure he will be happy to assist you.  If not, I bet paypal will.

Ok, now the fun part.  Here are my safelist advertising stats from last month.  These stats come from advertising my video splash page for Safelist Marketing Tactics.

Total Clicks

Unique Clicks Action Sales CTA CTS
ViralAdStore 1,488 863 73 15 8.46% 1.74%
List Joe 1,668 1,203 69 15 5.74% 1.25%
List Auction 1,062 684 30 15 4.39% 2.19%
Got Safelist 3,801 1,539 45 9 2.92% 0.58%
Elite Safelist 1,423 750 33 6 4.40% 0.80%
FreeSafelistMailer 1,199 551 23 6 4.17% 1.09%
AdSolutionline 2,155 857 26 5 3.03% 0.58%
Global Safelist 1,521 750 27 3 3.60% 0.40%

“Clicks” is how many people viewed my splash page.  “Action” is how many people clicked the link on my splash page to go to the main site.  “Sales” is how many people joined my site.  CTA and CTS are “clicks to action” and “clicks to sale”.  I ranked these safelists by sales but it is also important to look at the other numbers to determine how responsive each safelist really is.

It seems like I received a drop in sign-ups from the big 3 list builders.  It should be noted that these sites are also sending out far fewer emails than they had been a few months ago.  It’s rare now that I am ever able to earn enough credits to send to the maximum number of members.  That means my ads are reaching less people but at least I don’t have to spend all day clicking for credits any more.

Everything else looks pretty normal though it will be interesting to see if the new cheat protection scripts will have much of an effect when I check my stats again next month.

As usual, these are my own personal stats and depending on what you are advertising your results may vary.  This information is simply intended to be a guide for trying out new safelists that you might not already be a member of.  Also, don’t forget to track your ads to find out which safelists work best for you.  You can get a professional link tracker from TEToolbox.

The Best Safelists – December Stats

Author: Jerry Iannucci

Just in case you haven’t already heard… Happy New Year!

Is it really 2010?  I was just getting used to the 00′s.

2009 was a great year for me and safelists.  I guess because of the success of my ebook some people have actually started referring to me as “the safelist guy”.  I don’t think I deserve that title yet but I do have some big plans for 2010.

Let’s get to the news..

It appears AdSolutionline upgraded their surf bar.  It now features a cool graphic spinny thing.  Unfortunately my sign-ups there started to go down around the same time.  Not sure if it’s related but I just put in a support email to make sure everything is working ok.

Elite Safelist had some problems last month too.  Seems there was a hard drive crash which took the mailer down for about a week.  Luckily the problem got solved and everything there is running smoothly again.  Unfortunately, the missed week did bring down my numbers down for last month.  Here’s hoping this month puts Elite Safelist back up where it belongs.

Probably the biggest news last month was the launch of Viral Mail Profits.  This thing is really sweet as it manages all your safelist accounts from one location.  I am told they will be adding a mailer to the program very soon and I expect it to really blow up after that.  If you haven’t joined Viral Mail Profits yet, do it now!

Ok, let’s get to the stats:

Total Clicks

Unique Clicks Action Sales CTA CTS
List Joe 2,175 1,599 123 29 7.69% 1.81%
ViralAdStore 1,714 934 84 28 8.99% 3.00%
List Auction 1,059 718 66 17 9.19% 2.37%
FreeSafelistMailer
2,151 1,061 46 11 4.34% 1.04%
Got Safelist 3,948 1,721 49 10 2.85% 0.58%
Elite Safelist 1,534 799 37 5 4.63% 0.38%
Global Safelist
1,741 868 15 5 1.73% 0.58%
AdSolutionline 2,820 1,140 44 4 3.86% 0.35%
Smart Safelist 783 373 11 4 2.95% 1.07%

“Clicks” is how many people viewed my splash page.  “Action” is how many people clicked the link on my splash page to go to the main site.  “Sales” is how many people joined my site.  CTA and CTS are “clicks to action” and “clicks to sale”.

I should probably mention that these stats came from promoting my SMT splash page.  So depending on what you are promoting, your results may vary.

It’s been 3 days since I launched my Safelist Marketing Tactics website and so far I have been very happy with the results.

Have you joined yet?

http://www.SafelistTactics.com

Since Monday I have had almost 800 people join and the site has generated close to $900 in sales.  Not epic numbers by an means but this was a pretty small launch.  Now that I am a little more confident that I know what I am doing I think I should be able to pull off something a little bit bigger next time.

I must admit that I was also a little hesitant to release something I had personally written to such a large audience.  I am not a professional writer.  I usually just write the way I speak.  Based on the feedback I have received it sounds like I at least did a pretty good job of offering some valuable content which is what I was shooting for anyways.

I was planning to get started on my next project right away but I think I am going to spend some time expanding the Safelist Marketing Tactics site.  I
have some great ideas to help make the site a little more valuable to free members and also help the upgraded members earn more money.

If you haven’t joined yet I would love to have you as a member.  Even if you are not really interested in safelist marketing the membership site is still an interesting business model that you can use to build your own business.

Muscle Mail Gets a Facelift

Author: Jerry Iannucci

Have you seen the all new Muscle Mail Safelist?

A few years ago Muscle Mail attempted to solve the problems of traditional safelists advertising. Rather than flood your inbox with thousands of emails members could simply log into the Muscle Mail site to view ads from other members. Members could earn credits by browings text and html emails from other members and then use those credits to post their own ads.

The old Muscle Mail Safelist was more like a traffic exchange than an actual safelist. The problem was that it didn’t have the same security features as a traffic exchange. It was too easy for members to blow through dozens of ads a minute without ever taking the time to read them. This made the credits you earned virtually useless since your ads were barely being seen.

Over the last year a new type of advertising program has been gaining in popularity. These sites are called text ad exchanges. The new text ad exchanges attempt to bridge the gap between safelists and traffic exchanges. Members can view ads on the site to earn credits but there are now better security features forcing members to view the advertisements for a set amount of time.

Text ad exchanges really excel in giving members the ability to spend their advertising credits on solo ads. These are ads that are emailed to members, much like a credit-based safelist, but they are usually limited to only a few emails a day. This creates a much higher response rate to your ads since your email isn’t being set out with hundreds of other ads each day.

Muscle Mail has recently upgraded their site to embrace the new text ad exchange system. You can still post your text and html emails on the site but they now offer many more ways for advertisers to get their ads seen.
