The Best Safelists for December 2010

Author: Jerry Iannucci

Welcome to December!

Lots of stuff happened last month so let’s jump right into it.

Darren Olander launched Adchiever at the beginning of November.  This was probably one of the biggest launches i’ve seen so far for a new safelist/viral list builder.  The site opened with a pre-launch with the mailer scheduled to open a week later.  Unfortunately some technical problems kept the mailer from opening on time but it did eventually open.

Adchiever has a bunch of cool features to keep it’s members active.  Now that the mailer is open I am receiving 200+ emails a day which is a lot but the results have been worth it.  As you can see from the stats below even with only 2-3 weeks of mailings Adchiever is performing right up there with the best mailers.  If you are not a member yet this is definitely one to join.

Another new launch was Stefan Berg’s The Lead Magnet.  This one got off to a much slower start.  We just hit 1,000 members (1,001 right now) and opened the mailer last night.  I love what Stefan has done with this site and expect this to show some good results on my stats next month.

I wrote a review last month about a new software product called Safelist Genie.  Unfortunately my review wasn’t very positive.  I could probably make a lot of money by promoting this software but given the version I tested I could not recommend it to my readers in good conscience.  The good news is that the creator was responsive to my suggestions so hopefully I will be able to give it a second look soon. Safelist Genie is free for 15-days so if you want to try it for yourself be my guest.

There’s a new mailer coming soon from the creators of Sweeva. It’s still being developed and I am not supposed to talk about it yet so you didn’t hear it from me.  Shhh!

Ok, let’s get to the stats!

The stats you see below are my own tracking stats for several splash pages that I am rotating at various safelists and viral list builders.  I am upgraded in most of these sites and try to do the maximum daily mailings so please take that into consideration when deciding which sites to join.

Total Clicks Unique Clicks Action Sales CTA CTS
Quick List Profits 1,883 1,007 74 23 7.35% 2.28%
List Joe 2,323 1,554 125 18 8.04% 1.16%

“Clicks” is how many people viewed my splash page.  “Action” is how many people clicked the link on my splash page to go to the main site.  “Sales” is how many people joined my site.  CTA and CTS are “clicks to action” and “clicks to sale”.  I ranked these safelists by sales but it is also important to look at the other numbers to determine how responsive each safelist really is.

Go Quick List Profits! Definitely didn’t expect to see this one at the top of the list but this program is kicking butt.  This is a brand new program from my friend Kym Robinson.  If you’re not a member of Quick List Profits yet get in there now!

List Joe always rocks.  No surprise there.

And a big welcome to AdchieverAdchiever didn’t open until just a few weeks ago but this site is already delivering as promised.  I can’t wait to see how many sign-ups I get this month.

I guess that’s gonna do it for this month.

Of course I always like to point out these are my own personal stats and there are lot of different factors that go into getting these sign-ups.  Obviously your results may vary.  I provide this information as a guide for you to try out new safelists and viral list builders.  The only way to know which sites work best for you is to track your own ads.  You can get a free link tracker from TEToolbox.

The Doubler Scams Are Back

Author: Jerry Iannucci

Happy Monday!

So a few weeks ago I went on a little rant with my blog post about all the latest wave of ponzi schemes that had been popping up in Sweeva.  In case you missed it, here’s the link:

http://www.getrichwithjerry.com/ponzi-scheme-frustrations

Since then I have made it a point to call out the scam sites whenever I see them.  It’s been a lot of fun and I think it has put a spotlight on a lot of the people promoting this junk.  I suspect most of the people promoting these things are ignorant to how bad they are but at least I think people are starting to think twice before investing their money in them.

This all started with with the “profit sharing” scams which are now popping up all over the place.  However, now it appears that “doublers” are starting to make a come back.

Doublers are nothing new.  In fact they were quite the rage a few years ago.

Here’s how a doubler works.  It’s basically a straight line matrix.  In a perfect system you pay your entry fee and you receive a position at the bottom of the matrix.  Every time 2 new people join the matrix the person at the top receives double their money back and is removed from the list.

So if you are in position number #1, you double your money when spots #2 and #3 are filled.  The person in the #2 spot doubles their money when positions #4 and #5 are filled.

Easy right?

These things move like crazy when they first launch because everybody wants to be in the top spot.  However things quickly slow down as the number of members needed to get paid gets higher and higher.

The person in the #50 spot needs to wait until member #100 joins to double their money.  The person in the #100 spot needs to wait until member #200 joins.  #1000 needs to wait for #2000.

Do you see where I am going with this?

I said this is how it works in a perfect system.  In reality doublers are never a perfect 1:2 ratio.  The people running the site need to get paid too, right?  Then we add in affiliate commissions to get people to promote these sites and it really ends up being closer to a 1:3 ratio.

This is what is called a money game.  If you join early you can get lucky and make money from the people who join after you.  However if you join too late you may find that you will never get your money back because all doublers eventually stall out.

Why do doublers stall?

We already know it is better to join a doubler right when it launches.  Well the people running these sites know this too.  There is no reason for them to continue promoting a doubler that already has a few thousand members in it when it is far more profitable to launch a brand new doubler.  This happens over and over again.

Most of the members know that doublers eventually stall out too.  Would you rather invest your money into a doubler that already has a few thousand members or wait and join that brand new doubler that is launching tomorrow?

I used to follow doublers quite closely when they were popular a few years ago.  I have never seen a doubler last for more than 1 month before stalling out.  I’ve seen a couple of really popular doublers last a few weeks.  In reality most doublers only last for a few days.  I’ve even witnessed more than a few that only lasted a few hours before stalling.

When a doubler stalls the vast majority of members will never get their money back.  Yes, some people will make money but they do so at the expense of many others.  This is a classic ponzi scheme and is considered quite illegal.

I’ve only seen two new doubler sites but you can bet your money that over the next few weeks we are going to see dozens of new ones being launched.  Lots of money is going to be changing hands.  The owners of these sites are going to make a killing while thousands of people are going to lose their hard earned money.

So to summarize… doublers are bad, mmmkay?

Just say no to doublers.

Now, how long do you think it will be before “randomizers” make a come back?

TE Profits Gets a Relaunch

Author: Jerry Iannucci

The secret to making money on the Internet can be summed up in one simple formula:

Traffic + Conversion = Income

Easy, right?

And yet most people still struggle to make any real money online.

So what’s the problem?

You probably already know how to get the traffic.  If you’re using traffic exchanges you can easily generate a few thousand hits to your sites every day with very little effort.

The problem is the conversion.

Most people can’t figure out how to turn their traffic into cash.  They waste all of their time mindlessly clicking away and end up earning little or no money for their trouble.

What you need is a system that can convert your traffic into cash which is easy to setup and can generate long-term residual income.

One of the only online systems I have been able to find which can do this is called “TE Profits“.

I have been a member of TE Profits for at least two years.  If you have surfed at any of the major traffic exchanges in the last few years you’ve probably seen their splash pages.. many of them include a picture of the owner Scott Douglas (aka “The Dragonfly”).

I admit haven’t promoted TE Profits much because although I think the system is brilliant, the website I guess was just a little bit too confusing for new members which I think made it harder for them to see the forest though the trees.

About a week ago Scott Douglas contacted me and showed me the “new” TE Profits website that he has been working on.

What a difference!

The new TE Profits website is now so much easier to use.  Anybody can sign-up for this system and start putting Scott’s proven money making system to work for them today.

Scott just gave me the “thumbs up” that the new site is now open and ready for sign-ups!

You can join right here:

http://www.TEProfit.com

You will probably see me promoting this a lot more in the future.  I am a big fan of both Scott Douglas and TE Profits so I have no problem with recommending him or his program to anyone looking for ways to make money online.

Sunny’s JV Giveaway

Author: Jerry Iannucci

Happy Mother’s Day!

As you probably know from reading my blog Sunday is the night that I put together my weekly list of new JV giveaway events that are looking for contributors.

I don’t usually promote individual events because to be honest, there’s an awful lot of really mediocre giveaways.  I’m not saying they are bad.  I mean, they are free so you might as well join and take advantage of them, right?

Well, today I was just alerted to a very SPECIAL JV giveaway event being launched by my good friend Sunny Suggs.  Sunny and I have been talking about this giveaway for months and it’s great to see that it is finally open for contributors!

Yay!

Here’s the link:
http://www.sunnysjv.com/contributor.php?id=74

Sunny has lined up some real heavy hitters to promote this thing who don’t usually do giveaways.  That means you can expect to see a lot of new people visiting your squeeze pages which means a lot more subscribers for your list.

There are a lot of factors I look at when deciding if a giveaway event is worth the price of the upgrade and Sunny’s event has them all!  Of course even as a free member you are still going to get a ton of sign-ups from this event.

Don’t miss the special upgrade offers that you’ll see when you join.  The price
of the upgrade is much more expensive inside the site so if you plan on  upgrading you will definitely want to do it now.

The site launches on May 23rd!

Now that we have all the safelists and giveaway stuff out of the way let’s get back to the list building.

My last post showed you how to get a product to give away to get people to join your list.

Do you have a product, yet?

Good.

Ok, I know you probably don’t have one yet but i’m going to keep going so you can come back to that step when you are ready. Until then, I want to show you how to create your own squeeze page that you will use to promote your product and build your list.

Just to get it out of the way, a lead capture page and a squeeze page are the same thing.  They are webpages which contain a piece of code from your autoresponder that are designed for one purpose… to get people on your list.

There are 5 things that make up a good squeeze page:

1. A Killer Headline – The purpose of your headline is to get your visitor to read the rest of your page.  Getting the perfect headline takes a lot of practice. Check out: http://www.copyblogger.com for some great tips to improving your copy writing skills.

2. An Eye Catching Graphic – A picture is worth 1000 words.  Having some kind of graphics on your page can really help your page stand out.  You can get access to all sorts of stock photography that you can use from sites like: http://www.istockphoto.com

3. List of Benefits – Your squeeze page should include a list outlining 3 to 5 of
the benefits of your product.  Notice I said “benefits” and not “features”.  If
you don’t know the difference do a google search for “features vs. benefits”.

4. A Call To Action – Now that you have your reader’s attention you need to tell them what to do.  “Fill out the form to get your copy now”.  It sounds  obvious but it makes a big difference if you don’t do it.

5. Your Autoresponder Code – Of course.  Just copy and paste the code from your autoresponder into the page where you want it to appear.

6. The Privacy Disclaimer – Just another way to ensure people that you won’t abuse their email address if they fill out your form.  It’s been proven that if you don’t include this you will definitely get fewer sign-ups.

Here’s a sample:
http://www.safelisttactics.com/jv.htm

Now that you know all the components that go into a squeeze page you probably want to know how to build one…

Personally, I like to make my own from scratch.  I have my own website and I use a free html editor to make my own pages.  For less than $10/month there is so much you can do with webhosting.  If you don’t have your own webhosting I use Servage but there are plenty of good hosts to choose from.

But even if you have hosting you still might not feel comfortable enough to make your own web page.  For that I offer several solutions.

1. Instant Bonus Page – I already posted something about this.  You can make bonus pages for free but if you upgrade you will get access to one of the most simple squeeze page makers around. Highly recommended.

2. AdKreator – This site is great.  It let’s you make stunning graphic  advertisements without having learn complicated programs like Photoshop.   There’s upgraded membership option that gives you the ability to make your own squeeze pages which is well worth the price.

3. TE Toolbox – TE Toolbox has a variety of free Internet marketing tools including a basic squeeze page maker.  While not quite as powerful as the other two squeeze page makers it’s not a bad option.

That all for now.

Are we having fun yet?

Great!  Because next I am going to share with you my all time favorite website which will give you access to all sorts of free tools that you can use to make  money with your list.

See you soon!

Taking the Plunge with Traffic Wave

Author: Jerry Iannucci

I’ve said many times before that a professional autoresponder is one of the most powerful weapons in any successful Internet marketer’s arsenal. Over the past few years Aweber has become accepted as the king of autoresponders based on their features and more importantly their excellent delivery rate. Until now Aweber was the only autoresponder I would personally recommend but it looks like now I will be making the switch to Traffic Wave.

I actually joined Traffic Wave once about 6 years ago. At the time I think it was an FFA site with an autoresponder feature and some kind of income opportunity that I didn’t really understand. I joined because I thought I could make money from it and of course I didn’t so I quit.

Over the years I have seen various programs pushing Traffic Wave as a way to make money.  Because of this I always assumed that’s what it was… an income opportunity with an autoresponder tacked on to make it appear legit. I even expressed this opinion at NMF a few months ago and was surprised when the owner of Traffic Wave, Brian Rooney, showed up to dispel this myth and prove that Traffic Wave is a real autoresponder with delivery rates that could compete with the best autoresponders out there.

I kinda forgot about it until a few weeks ago when Jerry Reeder and I got into a discussion about Aweber’s new form builder and the possibility of switching to Traffic Wave to offer a simpler solution for our readers. When Jon Olson decided to make the switch to Traffic Wave live on TrafficExchangeLive last week we both took the plunge with him.

I’ve spent the last few days playing with Traffic Wave and I am happy to say that it has improved from where it was 6 years ago.  Improved a lot!  Traffic Wave is the real deal.  From what I can see Traffic Wave offers all the features as Aweber along with a very accessible owner who understands the needs of Internet marketers like myself.

The price is a big factor too.  When I joined Aweber I must have locked in a monthly subscription price which is roughly the same as Traffic Wave.  At some point Aweber changed their pricing based on the size of your list.  I guess as a long-time member I was exempt from the price change because based on the size of my list I should be paying an extra $50/month at Aweber.  Traffic Wave on the other hand has a flat monthly fee no matter how big your list gets.

What makes my decision to switch to Traffic Wave really interesting is that Traffic Wave is also an mlm complete with a forced matrix and fast track bonuses.  A few years ago I stated that I was done promoting these kinds of programs because instead of trying to sell good products you always end up pushing the opportunity.  When people fail to make money with the opportunity they quit and the whole thing falls apart.

Traffic Wave on the other hand is a real competitive autoresponder service that I am happy to use and recommend with or without the income opportunity.  The fact that I can make a lot more money with it is just an added bonus.

I don’t personally have any problems with Aweber.  I still think it’s a great autoresponder.  But when it comes time to recommend an autoresponder based on price and features I will have to go with Traffic Wave now.

I haven’t started promoting Traffic Wave yet.  I’ll probably start by updating the links in some of my ebooks and adding it my downline builders.  Once I get a few referrals then i’ll probably start pushing it a little harder.

If you have been on the fence about getting an autoresponder now would be a good time to join Traffic Wave.  I can’t promise that you will make thousands of dollars a month just from being in my downline but if you choose to use Traffic Wave to build your list you can feel confident that you are getting a professional autoresponder service that will become the backbone of your business for years to come.
