TE Command Post continues to be one of the most useful services for traffic exchanges surfers that I have ever used.  When you are a member of dozens of traffic exchanges like I am it becomes extremely helpful to keep track of all of your credits on all of your traffic exchanges with just one click.

This past week TE Command Post added a new feature which makes it an even more invaluable tool… the ability to track all of the commissions traffic exchanges owe you.

Check this out:According to TE Command Post I had over $400 in commissions owed to me that I had not yet received.  Now some of these sites do pay monthly and I just have not been paid yet this month.  List Surfing is a good example of this.  But many other sites require you to login and manually request your commissions be paid.  If you don’t know you are owed commissions you never get paid.

Now that Easter is over things have finally quieted down a bit in the giveaway world.

This past week I recorded my first durfing video.

What is durfing?

I guess I should back up a little.

There is this certain traffic exchange that I spend a lot of time at called Sweeva.  One of the things that makes Sweeva unique is that all members view the same page at the same time.

Every so often the guys at TimTech will throw a “Sweeva surfing party” where we all get online at the same time to look at and critique each other’s sites.  It’s a great way to get honest opinions about what works and what doesn’t work in a traffic exchange environment.

So a few weeks ago John Gunazon decided to take advantage of the increased surf activity at Sweeva and post a video of himself dancing and surfing at the same time.  Thus “durfing” was born.

Pretty silly, right?

But that’s exactly the point!

Traffic exchanges are a great way to quickly and easily get your pages seen by a very large audience…  but they can also be extremely boring!  How many times can you look at the same generic affiliate pages promoting the same generic business opportunities before you completely tune out and stop paying attention?

Good luck ignoring John and Lynne’s durfing videos.

John’s video was completely different from anything else out there.  It sticks out like a sore thumb which is exactly what you need to do if you want your pages to get noticed.

I decided to put this idea to the test and record my own durfing video.

Are you ready?

What has been seen cannot be unseen.  lol.

I linked the video to a squeeze page promoting my blog (you can see the squeeze page here) and spent about 2000 credits to have my site shown all day Thursday on Sweeva.  If I were buying credits that would have cost me about $7.00.

The result.. 8 new blog subscribers.  Not huge but I know there are already a lot of Sweeva members who are subscribed to my blog.

What did blow me away was the response the video received.

Generic affiliate pages rarely get many comment but people were practically falling over themselves to leave comments on my page. I also received over a dozen tweets from members and mentions on multiple blogs.

The point is that I got noticed.  The next time someone sees one of my pages they are going to say “hey, there’s that durfing guy!” and hopefully pay attention to what I am promoting.

And it’s so easy to do!

I spent about 15 minutes setting up lights and recording the video on my flipcam and I spent another 20 minutes making the squeeze page in AdKreator.  I did spend about 30 minutes inside Sony Vegas adding the text and tweaking the music levels but that was just me being a perfectionist.

The point is anybody can do this.

You don’t need to make a durfing video, just do something different.  Post your video upside down or record a very serious promo video while wearing last year’s Halloween costume.  Yes, it’s silly but it works.

Internet marketing doesn’t have to be boring.  Have fun and enjoy what you’re doing.  The results are sure to follow.

I received a comment yesterday on one of my earlier posts about ClickTrackProfit asking if promoting CTP would conflict with their efforts to promote TEProfits.  The same topic came up earlier last week in a TELive and I thought it was worth discussing here.

Just so you know ClickTrackProfit and TEProfits are both essentially downline builders that target the traffic exchange industry.  Both programs have excellent online training and both can be used to build your TrafficWave downlines.

I think the biggest difference between the two programs is that TEProfits puts more emphasis on using TrafficWave to build your list than ClickTrackProfit does.  There are multiple squeeze pages within the TEProfits members area that you can promote as well as a 25 part email series that can automatically be loaded into your TrafficWave account.  If you are new to list building and want an easy system to help you get started then I highly recommend checking out TEProfits.

ClickTrackProfit on the other hand was designed to be super simple.  Although there is video training on how to use TrafficWave inside the members area the system itself revolves around creating your own custom splash page that you can promote in traffic exchanges to bring new members into the program.

By advertising that link on the recommended traffic exchanges my hits are automatically tracked and when I have received enough traffic I can unlock additional features on the ClickTrackProfit website.  It’s actually pretty neat.

ClickTrackProfit uses Adkreator to create your splash page.  If you wanted to you could turn your splash page into a squeeze page by adding your own autoresponder code to Adkreator.  That would allow you to build your list and promote the CTP system at the same time.  Unfortunately at this time there are no official CTP autoresponder emails to accompany your page so you would be responsible for creating those yourself.

I should probably also mention that if you are not into list building you can promote TEProfits with their splash pages and benefit from just using it as a downline builder.  In that sense TEProfits and ClickTrackProfit are both very similar.

So to answer my reader’s question…  if you are already using TEProfits to build your list then you are probably better off just continuing to do what you are doing.  Yes, you can use ClickTrackProfit to build your list but it will take a little extra work on your part create all of your emails from scratch.

If the list building stuff is still over your head and you are just looking for a simple system to get more traffic and make money then ClickTrackProfit is a great place to start.  There are videos that lead your step-by-step through the system and the whole thing is very easy to setup.
