Last week Jon Olson re-launched SWAT Traffic and introduced the world to a brand new mascot.  Unfortunately that mascot did not have a name.  The call went out to name the SWAT mascot and the people responded.

I don’t usually like to toot my own horn (that’s not true, i’m actually quite fond of it) but I am proud to announce that my suggestion was ultimately chosen!

Introducing.. the new SWAT mascot:

Reminding you to…
Pay Attention While Surfing!

Yeah, I know. It just popped into my head at 2 in the morning and I guess it worked.

I can’t win a referral contest because I don’t have enough leverage.
I can’t win a surfing contest because I sometimes have a social life.
But give me a contest that requires a little creativity and I guess everybody has a shot.

So in celebration I am giving away 2.. count ’em 2 free “Captain” upgrades at the all new SWAT Traffic.

Here’s what Captain members receive:

– Live Captain Member Training Sessions
– Exclusive Downloadable Training Audios
– 750 Bonus Credits per Month
– Higher Surf Ratio
– Random Referrals
– 1500 Banners Per Month
– 2500 Text Impressions Per Month
– Much much more…

Here’s the catch.. I only have 2 upgrades to give away and I don’t want them to go to waste. If you don’t plan on surfing to make the most of your upgrades please don’t ask for one.

Also, the biggest benefit of upgrading at SWAT is having access to the Wednesday night SWAT conference room. This is where all the other Captains and traffic exchange owners meet every week to network and talk about Internet marketing. If you have no interest in attending at least one of the Wednesday night conferences, don’t ask for the upgrade.

This is for new SWAT members only!

Everybody is looking for ways to drive affordable web traffic to their sites.

Try this. Head over to the Wordtracker keyword suggestion tool and do a search for the keywords that best relates to your site and check out the results. When people do a search for these keywords in the search engines indexed websites containing articles with these keywords will show up. This is exactly what leads traffic to sites containing keyword rich articles.

You have probably heard the phase “content is king”. It’s true! Surfers just can’t get enough information on various topics. Giving them the information they are looking for through articles is a sure way to drive red hot traffic your websites.

Here are a few of the ways writing articles can benefit your business.

1. It’s free.

Too good to be true? Actually, no! All you need is your thoughts and your computer. If you have those two things then there is nothing that can stop you from typing words that will create articles for your website.

2. Your site will get noticed very quickly.

Search engines are quick to pick up new articles. Submit your article to some high traffic article directories and it won’t be long before your article gets crawled by the search engines. Of course don’t forget to include your resource box in the byline.

3. Automatically obtain back links.

When you submit your articles to the directories other websites will have the option to make use of your article too. According to the copyright terms of your articles the URL of your website should remain in tact and will subsequently direct more traffic to your site.

4. Improve your reputation.

If you plainly display your products on your website there is a good chance that you will not gain much of a conversion rate. Conversion is when your traffic converts to sales. It is important that you show people that you are knowledgeable in your field. An excellent way to show people that you know what you are talking about is by writing articles on your subject.

Get your creative juices flowing and start jotting down some ideas quickly to jump start your article writing momentum. With all of the benefits listed above, writer’s block is the last problem you will ever be able to surmount.

Today I spent a few hours working on making a new squeeze page for my ebook (the last one bombed hard). Now that it is up and traffic is flowing to it I got to spend some time reading. I just finished reading a copy of “15 Day Resell Rights Success” which is an ebook that show you how to make money with resell rights products.

I have been dabbling with master resell rights products for a few years. I admit that for the most part I have been stumbling blindly with very little success. 15 Day Resell Rights Success gives me a road map that I can follow which is broken up into 15 tasks. Complete 1 task a day and in 15 days you will have success.. or so they say.

I was skeptical but 15 Day Resell Rights Success is actually packed with really good information that I have not been able to find elsewhere. The section about how to turn trash into cash was a real eye opener for me.

If you have a collection of resell rights products on your computer or if are looking for the best places to cheaply acquire master resell rights products check out the 15 Day Resell Rights Success ebook.

Internet Marketing Success Formula

Author: Jerry Iannucci

I woke up this morning to an inbox full of emails telling me that Soren Jordansen had released a new ebook called “Internet Marketing Success Formula“. No, not “Traffic Success Formula“, that’s something completely different (smile).

In case you don’t know who Soren Jordansen is, he’s this crazy Internet marketer from Denmark who runs quite a few popular websites. I have been a Soren fan for awhile now. He and I seem to have very similar thoughts and ideas regarding Internet marketing… he’s just a LOT more successful at it than I am.

Internet Marketing Success Formula is the direct result of a survey that Soren ran on his blog a few months ago. I participated in that survey and as I recall there was a section at the end asking what aspects of Internet marketing you wanted to know more about. I suggested a few things that I had not seen covered anywhere else and I am psyched that some of those topics made it into his blog and now into the new book.

After reading so many ebooks filled with vague Internet marketing concepts Soren just lays out all the best secrets for making money building a profitable email list. Soren shows you the right way to setup squeeze pages, OTO pages, thank you pages, and even shows you exactly how to write your follow-up emails to “train” your subscribers to buy from you. Killer stuff!

Best of all, Soren is giving away his Internet Marketing Success Formula for free! There is a small fee if you want to rebrand the book with your affiliate links but if you purchase the OTO when you sign-up you can get it for practically nothing.

Highly Recommended! To get your copy, click the link below…

Article Writing For Fun and Profit

Author: Jerry Iannucci

Phew! It got warm again in St. Louis. I’ve been tempted to turn the air conditioning back on all day today but instead I will stick with my trusty fan and some frosty beverages.

I spent most of the day working on a new squeeze page. I know these things shouldn’t take more than an hour but I suck at graphic design. I always end up spending way too much time fussing over the tiniest details try to make everything look “just right”.

I think I am done. I’ll leave up on the screen for a few hours tonight to see if I still like it tomorrow.

In the mean time I just finished reading an ebook on article marketing. Article marketing isn’t something I would consider myself an expert on yet. I have written a few articles and submitted them to all the article directories. Most of the articles I wrote only got me a few hits back at my site. But one article… I once wrote an article about “tornadoes” for one niche site I was working on and submitted it to all the usual places. That article continues to feed more quality traffic to my niche site than any other traffic source out there.

That was a few months ago. I just haven’t had much time to write any new articles lately.

The book I read tonight is called “Article Cash” and it explains an easier method than what I was using to get your articles written and submitted so you can get into profit faster.

My problem is I spend way too much time trying to get my articles absolutely perfect. Article Cash gives some great tips for writing quality articles in a fraction of the time. I could easily see myself churning out 3 or 4 quality articles a day with the techniques laid out in this book.

In addition to the tips about writing articles Article Cash also shows you how to make the most money from your articles. I was happy to see the author included a section on list building and even included an email series revealing his method of generating multiple sales from just one article.

I am looking forward to writing a few articles now to see how much I can make.

Understanding Keyword Density

Author: Jerry Iannucci

Today I took my cat to the vet for his annual booster shots. He’s only 2 so this was really only his second trip to the vet since I got him. His first visit was a year ago and it was a total disaster. He moaned at me the entire ride to the vet and then we got stuck in the waiting room for 30 minutes. We almost made it all the way back home before he peed all over himself in the carrier. Needless to say he was not too fond of the experience.

When I got the pet carrier out today he wanted nothing to do with it. After about an hour of pleading and trying to trick him into getting inside by himself it came down to a wrestling match that I eventually won.

The 20 minute drive sucked. He moaned the entire way and for awhile it looked like he was going to start hyperventilating. We finally got to the clinic… and they were closed! Son of a… It seems the doctor had a personal emergency and could not come in today. Nooo!

So, I get to try again on Tuesday. I’m sure Sydney (my cat) will be thrilled.

In the mean time… how about some keyword tips?

Yep, keywords. Gotta love them. The search engines sure do. That is why it is important to understand how to use keyword density on your pages the correct way.

Keyword density is a way to gauge how often a selected keyword appears on your page. Keep in mind that keywords should not be over used. There should be just enough keywords to appear at all the important places in your content.

Don’t use keywords too often! If you decide to just stuff your pages with keywords then your site will most likely be rejected by the search engines because they think you are trying to cheat them.

Keyword density is expressed as a percentage of the total word content on a given web page.

Let’s say you have 100 words on your page (not counting all the html code in the source file) and your keyword appears five times in your content. You can calculate the keyword density on that page by dividing the total number of keywords by the total number of words on your page. In this case it would be 5 divided by 100 which is .05. Since keyword density is a percentage you would multiply that number by 100, that is 0.05 x 100 = 5%

Your goal should be to try and keep your keyword density between 3% and 5%. This should get you recognized by the search engines without making it appear that you are trying to spam them.

Here’s an easy way to check the keyword density of your page:

Copy and paste the content from your page into a word processing program such as Microsoft Word.

Go to the “Edit” menu and choose “Select All”.

Now click on “Tools” menu and select “Word Count”. Write down the total number of words in the page.

Now select the “Find” function on the ‘Edit’ menu and do a search for your keyword. Use the “Next” option to find all the occurrences of your keyword.

With the total word count for the page and the total number of keywords you can now figure out the keyword density of your page. Ta-da!

Hope that helps.

Now I am going to go play with Sydney. He had a stressful day and needs to unwind with some string.

Yep. Been slacking a little bit on updating the blog. Sorry. Been pretty busy doing light shows around town. I even got the chance to do lights for a band this past weekend who had a #1 single for a few weeks in the 80s. Not exactly my type of music, but still a pretty cool experience to say the least.

Been digging through lots of software and ebook titles over the last few days looking for some quality stuff to share with you. Gonna take some time to sort it all out. In the mean time I thought I would share a few tips for getting repeat traffic for your site.

Getting repeat traffic to your site is very important because most people won’t buy something the first time they see your site. It is important to get them to come back so that they can make a better decision and hopefully become a customer.

Here’s a few tips for getting repeat traffic:

1. Try to update your pages as often as possible. I know I am often guilty of not doing that one but it is true that stagnant websites are often dropped by some of the search engines.

2. Offer some kind of additional value on your site. For affiliates you can put links to their sites and products and ask them to do the same for you. You can also advertise their products if they relate to your industry and are not in direct competition with your own product.

3. Allow your customers to opt-in to get discounts and special offers from you. Place a link on your site to your autoresponder and invite customers to opt-in to get valuable updates from you.

4. Add a script to your page that allows your visitors to add your page to their “Favorites”.

5. Add a “Recommend this site to a Friend” link so people can email your website link to other people just by clicking on it.

6. Brand your website so your visitors will always know that they are on your site. Try to use consistent colors, logos and slogans and always provide a “Contact” link on each page.

7. Create a “Policies” page that clearly defines your philosophy and principles. Also, post a “Privacy Policy” so that clients know that they are secure when they visit your site.

8. Make an FAQ page which addresses the doubts and some of the clarifications about your product or your company that are likely to be asked. This will help to resolve many of the visitors doubts in their first visit to your site.

8. Make sure each page on your site has appropriate titles and keywords so your customer can find their way back to your site if they lose the bookmark.

9. Never spam a client who has opted in for your newsletters with unsolicited emails. If they decide they want to opt-out from your list make sure you honor their request and take them off the mailing list. They may still come back if they like your products but they will never come back if you continue to flood their inbox with mails they no longer want to receive.

Hope this helps.

If you can think of any more please feel free to comment.

How To Poll Your Niche Market

Author: Jerry Iannucci

A few weeks ago I posted an article called “How To Choose A Niche Product People Want To Buy”. If you missed it just click here now.

I mentioned that it is a good idea to poll your niche market to find out what they are willing to buy before you go out and create a product that nobody wants.

Here’s how to poll your niche market:

1. First you need to setup a web page where your visitors will go to fill out a survey.  You can find a good polling script at  You can also do it manually by having people email you but that is much more time consuming and doesn’t really have the same effect response wise

2. Make your poll very simple.  You do not want to ask 50 questions that some of your market may not have answers for. If you do that, they simple won’t fill it out, or they will fill it out falsely. You want to keep it simple enough so that all of the market you are aiming at can do it, but you also want to get enough information out of them for the venture to be a success.

Here are some sample ideas of questions you can ask:

… In the next 3 months, what would you most likely purchase
… How much money are you willing to spend on this
… What is the main problem that you have with “ABC”

3. Create a free report on the topic that you feel your target market is most interested in. Do some quick research and write an essay, or summarize a certain subject. This free report is going to be the reason why people are filling out your survey in the first place. If you do not have anything to give them for their participation, then they most likely won’t participate.

4. Find a newsletter that offers solo mailings. You will get much better results if you do this kind of survey with solo mailings. Actually, your best bet is to send it to your own mailing list but if you don’t already have a list of people in your niche then it is better to spend a few dollars to promote your survey with a solo mailing.

5. Your solo ad simply needs to be about getting a free report if they click on your link. The link takes them to the survey page that gives a short explanation of how all they need to do to get the free report is to fill out this short survey.

A few tips with creating your poll…
a.. Do not have any of the options already checked. This will create false results as people will just click the “submit” button quickly and not even change the “already checked” results.

b.. Make sure and have “None of the above” options for each question. All of your products ideas might not be bought by anybody, and if you do not have “none of the above” options, then you would never know and you could still possibly end up creating something that nobody wants.

c.. No fancy designs. Have your webpage that hosts the poll on it, simply for hosting the poll. No need for fancy, flashy designs and links going to several different places. Just have your poll and that is it. After you have done the above, tally up the results and begin designing the product you are going to create. Usually, you will see the results are pretty one sided. The majority of people will have picked the same options, which is what you want.

If the results show that everything is pretty equal, then pick the option that you are most comfortable with creating. If the majority of the results show “None of the above” answers, then create different questions and poll them again.

Polling your target market is much easier to do that it sounds. Just follow the instructions watch the results.
